Frame Dance has collaborated with—and paid—over 225 different professional artists.
In 2010, artistically transformed by the work she witnessed as 2007 Artist-in-Residence at Community Dance Connection Theater in Lexington, VA, Lydia Hance founded Frame Dance Productions to bring radically inclusive and deeply personal dance to Houston. Committed to interdisciplinary collaboration, Frame Dance works solely with living composers and, to date, 24 have debuted work in Houston with Lydia’s choreography. Equally committed to bringing dance to unlikely spaces, Frame Dance created over 40 unique site-specific performances and eleven dances for the camera. Frame Dance has partnered with or been presented by METRO, Houston Museum of Natural Sciences, Houston Parks Board, Texas Asia Society, Plant It Forward Farms, CORE Dance, Rice University, Houston Ballet, 14 Pews, Aurora Picture Show, Contemporary Arts Museum. Tens of thousands of Houstonians have had an artistic encounter they otherwise would not have had because of these performances.
