There’s always a positive spin put on it…but this is half-part sad!
“The Joyce Theater is buying its longtime home in Chelsea for $20 million and selling its SoHo location for about $27 million, according to theater officials,” says the New York Times. Check out the full article here.

Yes, it is sad to lose that space for sure, many successful artists got their start there and many have benefited greatly from the services offered. Cathy Eilers did a great job with that place. But please be encouraged that they will continue with artist residency programs and The Joyce will be replacing the space at some point in a less expensive area in the future. It is bittersweet, but hopefully will allow for more in the future of dance.
